Galatasaray have increased their offer for Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic from €15m to €18m, according to Sky Sports Germany, with the Bosnian forward now reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with the Turkish Super Lig club.
The proposed move to Istanbul appeared unlikely earlier in the summer, but Demirovic’s position has since changed. The 27-year-old is no longer opposed to joining Galatasaray and is understood to be nearing an agreement over the terms of a potential contract.
Stuttgart rejected Galatasaray’s initial €15m bid. The German club are seeking a fee of more than €20m for Demirovic, who joined them from Augsburg for €23m in the summer of 2024.
Galatasaray’s improved offer remains below Stuttgart’s reported valuation, meaning there is still a gap between the two clubs. The latest proposal could, however, represent progress in negotiations as Galatasaray attempt to bring the striker to Turkey.
Demirovic said in early August that he wanted to remain with Stuttgart. Speaking to Bild, he said: “Leaving is not something I’m considering. I saw a lot of rumors during the holidays, but I’ve always said that I want to stay at Stuttgart. I get along well with the coach, and my position hasn’t changed.”
Those comments suggested the Bosnia and Herzegovina international was committed to continuing his Stuttgart career, but his latest stance indicates that his future could yet lie elsewhere. Despite his previous public declaration, a move to Galatasaray has now become a possibility, with personal terms reportedly close to being settled.
The remaining issue is the transfer fee. Stuttgart paid €23m to sign Demirovic from Augsburg and are hoping to recover a similar amount, or at least receive more than €20m. Galatasaray’s €18m offer does not currently meet that expectation, although the Turkish club’s decision to raise its bid by €3m could help move the discussions forward.
No completed agreement between the clubs has been reported. The deal is therefore not yet final, but the change in Demirovic’s position has strengthened Galatasaray’s prospects of signing him.
