Fulham have returned with a second offer for Stade Rennais defender Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, but the French club have again rejected the proposal.
The Premier League side’s latest bid is understood to be worth €35m, including potential bonuses, according to Onze Mondial. It follows an initial offer of €28m, which was also turned down by Rennes.
Fulham’s persistence underlines their strong interest in the 20-year-old Morocco international, but the improved package has not persuaded the Breton club to consider a sale. Rennes value the defender at close to €50m, reflecting both his potential and his importance to the squad.
Ait Boudlal is under contract with Stade Rennais until June 2028. The club’s directors are keen to extend that agreement, adding another obstacle for Fulham as they attempt to bring the player to the Premier League.
The defender is reportedly attracted by Fulham’s interest and the possibility of playing in England’s top flight. His performances in recent months have also drawn attention from several European clubs, as reported exclusively by Africafoot.
Ait Boudlal’s current market value is estimated at €12m by Transfermarkt, significantly below the figure Rennes are seeking. However, the difference between that valuation and the French club’s asking price reflects the importance Rennes attach to the player and their desire to retain him.
For now, the two clubs remain apart in their assessment of the defender. Fulham have already substantially increased their opening offer, while Rennes have maintained their position by rejecting both bids.
