Frattesi posts ‘No fear’ message to Tonali after Italy draw with France

Davide Frattesi shared a two-word message for Sandro Tonali after Italy drew 1-1 with France in the Nations League: “No fear.”

The Azzurri secured a point at Saint-Denis on a night that marked Zinedine Zidane’s home debut as Les Bleus’ coach.

Frattesi posted a photograph of himself with Tottenham star Tonali on social media after the match, accompanied by the brief message.

Both midfielders started for Italy, with Nicolo Fagioli completing the central midfield three. Nicolo Barella began the match on the substitutes’ bench.

Tonali has started all three of Italy’s matches so far in the competition, although he was replaced during the second half against France.

Frattesi was introduced from the bench in the 1-1 draw with Belgium before starting the following matches against Turkiye and France. He scored Italy’s goal against Turkiye.

The result means Italy have taken four points from their opening three group-phase matches in the Nations League.

The Azzurri will play Turkiye again next Monday, with the match taking place at the Stadio Dall’Ara in Bologna.
