Franck Kessié eyes Serie A return as Juventus make early move

Franck Kessié could be set for a return to Serie A, with uncertainty surrounding his future at Al-Ahli Saudi FC as contract extension talks remain unresolved.

The Ivorian midfielder, who previously played in Italy for AC Milan and Atalanta BC, is reportedly considering a move back to a league where he enjoyed some of the most successful periods of his career.

Juventus FC are understood to have taken initial steps to secure his signature, with reports suggesting they have proposed a three-year contract worth around €5 million per season.

However, the offer is said to depend on the possibility of signing Kessié on a free transfer next summer, rather than paying a transfer fee.

Juventus are looking to strengthen their midfield options with an experienced player capable of adding physical presence and consistency, qualities Kessié has demonstrated at the highest level.

A key issue in negotiations remains the player’s current salary expectations, which are believed to be close to €14 million annually. That figure is likely to present a challenge for interested clubs, although there are indications he may be willing to lower his demands to facilitate a return to European football.

AS Roma are also monitoring the situation, though they are not currently considered frontrunners in the race to sign the midfielder.

With no agreement yet reached over a new contract in Saudi Arabia and growing interest from Italy, the coming months are expected to be crucial in determining Kessié’s next move.

A return to Serie A would mark a significant step in his career, as he weighs up the opportunity to compete again at the highest level in European football.
