Portugal and Angola midfielder Florentino, currently at Burnley, is being linked with a move to Premier League side Hull City as the recently promoted club look to reinforce their midfield options.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder only joined Burnley on a permanent basis on 1 July 2026, following an initial loan spell from Benfica that began in September 2025. Burnley paid a reported €24m to turn that temporary deal into a full transfer, with Florentino’s current market value listed at €16m.
Hull’s interest comes in the wake of Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League in the 2025-26 season, a campaign in which Florentino made 31 league appearances and registered two assists. His experience at the top level extends beyond England, with previous spells in LaLiga, Ligue 1 and the Champions League earlier in his career.
Born in Lobito in 1999, Florentino has come through high-level environments, winning the Portuguese title twice with Benfica, most recently in 2022-23. He has also been part of successful Portuguese youth sides, including European Under-17 and Under-19 championship wins.
Burnley face a decision over whether to cash in on one of their more valuable assets as they prepare for life in the Championship, with Hull viewing the right-footed midfielder as a potential anchor in their return to the top flight. Florentino remains under contract at Turf Moor, and any deal would need to reflect Burnley’s recent outlay to secure his permanent signing.
