Fabian Hurzeler criticises Liverpool approach after Brighton defeat

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler criticised Liverpool’s approach after his side lost 2-0 in the eighth round of the Premier League, saying: “Only one team tried to win.”

Liverpool secured victory through Pascal Gross’ own goal and a finish from Alexander Isak, despite enjoying just 35.6% possession at home.

It was Liverpool’s second-lowest possession figure in a home Premier League victory since the 2003-04 season.

The result gave Liverpool a fourth consecutive win in all competitions and lifted them to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Brighton, meanwhile, suffered only their second defeat in 13 matches in all competitions. They remain third in the league.
