Eyad Salah: Egypt defender joins A. Abo Qir on free transfer

Egypt centre-back Eyad Salah has joined A. Abo Qir from Mokawloon U23 on a free transfer.

The 21-year-old completed the move on 15 August 2026, ending his time with Mokawloon’s under-23 side and linking up with A. Abo Qir’s senior squad. Salah’s preferred position is central defence and he is right-footed.

Salah made two appearances in the Premier League before leaving Mokawloon U23, playing a total of eight minutes. He did not score or provide an assist in those appearances.

The defender joined Mokawloon U23 from Mokawloon U19 on 1 July 2024, having previously been part of the Pyramids FC U19 setup. His move to A. Abo Qir therefore represents a return to senior football after two seasons within Mokawloon’s youth structure.

Salah began his recorded club career at Pyramids FC U19 before switching to Mokawloon U19 on 1 July 2023. He moved up to Mokawloon’s under-23 team a year later and remained there until completing his latest transfer.

A. Abo Qir become Salah’s latest club as he continues his career in Egypt. The move was registered as a free transfer, with the defender joining without a transfer fee.

Salah has now changed clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season, with A. Abo Qir listed as his current team following the completed switch. His arrival gives the club an Egyptian central defender who has already made Premier League appearances.

The transfer was completed on 15 August 2026, with Salah leaving Mokawloon U23 to join A. Abo Qir on a free transfer.
