Esperance Sportive de Tunis have completed the signing of Algerian defender Adam Alilat on a free transfer, with the 27-year-old joining the Tunisian club on a two-season contract until 2028.
The Bab Souika club confirmed the deal on Saturday through its official Facebook page, making Alilat one of the additions to its defence during the current transfer window.
Alilat arrives as a replacement for fellow Algerian defender Mohamed Amine Tougai, who left Esperance during the transfer window to join Libyan club Al-Ahly Tripoli. His departure led the Tunisian side to look for a defender capable of bringing experience and greater depth to the back line.
The new signing has spent much of his career in Algerian football and made his name with USM Alger. He played 88 matches in the Algerian league for the club, scoring seven goals, while also making 34 appearances in African competitions.
Born in Zeralda, Algeria, on January 17, 1999, Alilat primarily operates as a centre-back. He can also play on the left side of the defence despite being right-footed, giving him an additional option across the back line.
His time with USM Alger also brought success in continental and domestic competitions. He was part of the side that won the CAF Confederation Cup during the 2022-2023 season and the CAF Super Cup in the same year. He also helped the club win the Algerian Cup in the 2024-2025 season.
At international level, Alilat previously represented Algeria’s national team for local players and took part in the African Nations Championship in 2025.
The move to Esperance follows his first professional spell outside Algeria. In January 2026, Alilat left USM Alger for Al-Ittihad of Libya, where he began his experience abroad. His spell with the Libyan club has now ended, paving the way for his move to Tunisia.
WinWin had previously reported details of Alilat’s transfer to Al-Ittihad, stating that he had signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Libyan side.
Esperance are continuing to shape their squad under Romanian coach Reghecampf as they prepare for the challenges ahead. The Tunisian club are targeting a return to the top of the domestic league while also seeking to compete strongly in the African Champions League.
Alilat’s arrival is therefore another step in Esperance’s efforts to strengthen their squad and complete its structure ahead of a season in which the club has major ambitions on both the domestic and continental fronts.
