Roma are continuing to pursue Real Madrid and Brazil striker Endrick, who has been identified as a priority target for the Serie A club when the January transfer window opens.
The 20-year-old is understood to remain open to a move to the Italian capital after struggling for regular first-team opportunities at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho.
Roma are seeking attacking reinforcements for the second half of the campaign, and sporting director Tony D’Amico is still said to regard Endrick as a leading option. The club held discussions with the striker’s representatives during the summer window and could revive those negotiations in January.
Endrick has reportedly told some of his closest friends in Brazil that a move to Rome is a possible outcome when the winter market opens. His limited involvement at the Bernabeu is understood to be a factor in his willingness to consider leaving Real Madrid, at least temporarily.
The forward has made only one appearance for Real Madrid this season. He was introduced as a substitute for four minutes during their 3-2 away victory at Elche.
That lack of playing time has kept Roma’s interest alive, with the club continuing to assess ways of strengthening its attack for the second part of the season. Endrick’s situation could become clearer later in the year as the January window approaches.
Real Madrid are due to visit Roma in the Champions League Round 2 on Wednesday, October 14, providing Endrick with a possible reunion with the Serie A side in European competition.
