Egyptian goalkeeper El Sayed Ateya has joined Nabaroh on a free transfer from Seid El Mahalla, signing a deal that runs until 30 June 2028. The 25-year-old moves within Egyptian football as he looks to establish himself as the new first-choice option between the posts.
Ateya switches to Nabaroh after a year with Seid El Mahalla, whom he also joined on a free from United Sport in August 2025. His arrival gives Nabaroh a right‐footed goalkeeper with experience across several clubs in the domestic game.
Born in Mahalla on 13 February 2001, Ateya came through the ranks at Baladiya before earning a move to Zamalek’s youth set-up in 2018. He progressed to Zamalek’s senior squad in 2022 and was part of the side that won the Egyptian championship in the 2021-22 season, the standout honour of his career to date.
Since leaving Zamalek in 2023, Ateya has had spells with El Nasr Tadeen, El Shorta and United Sport, all completed on free transfers, building up a varied resume across the Egyptian league structure. His most recent move continues that pattern, with Nabaroh opting to secure his services without a transfer fee.
Ateya’s contract until summer 2028 underlines Nabaroh’s commitment to him as a long-term option in goal, completing a permanent move that ties the Egyptian keeper to the club for the next two seasons.
