The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has approved 12 stadiums to host matches in the 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League season, with five of the selected venues located in Cairo.
The new campaign will feature 20 teams competing for the league title, with matches scheduled to take place across the 12 approved stadiums.
Among the venues in Cairo is the Cairo International Stadium, one of the most prominent grounds included on the list.
Egyptian football supporters are now preparing for the start of the new campaign after the League of Clubs confirmed the stadiums that will be used and announced the schedule for the opening round.
The decision provides clubs with greater clarity over the venues that will host their matches as they prepare for the beginning of the 2026-27 season.
Five stadiums in Cairo
Cairo will have the largest representation among the cities and locations hosting Premier League matches.
Five stadiums in the capital have been approved for the new campaign, with Cairo International Stadium among the most notable.
The remaining approved venues will be used to host fixtures involving clubs based outside the capital, allowing the 20 participating teams to stage their matches across 12 stadiums.
The League of Clubs has already revealed the fixtures for the first round of the competition, meaning supporters can begin planning for the opening matches of the season.

New league format
The 2026-27 Egyptian Premier League will begin with all 20 clubs competing in a single round-robin stage.

The remaining 14 teams will make up the second group, where they will compete to avoid relegation.

The relegation battle will be particularly significant because four clubs will drop out of the Egyptian Premier League at the end of the campaign.
At the same time, three teams from the second division will be promoted to replace clubs leaving the top flight.

Al Ahly and Zamalek are among the 20 clubs involved, while Pyramids, Al Masry and National Bank of Egypt will also compete.
