Djabi stable after horror stabbing in Denmark

Alamara Djabi is now in stable condition after undergoing two emergency surgeries following a brutal stabbing incident in Herning, his club FC Midtjylland has confirmed.

Fight for Life After ‘Extremely Grave’ Attack

The 19-year-old midfielder was left in a critical state after sustaining serious injuries in what the club described as a violent and life-threatening attack on Sunday.

Swift medical response proved crucial. Djabi was rushed into emergency care, where he underwent urgent surgery, followed by a second operation as doctors battled to stabilize his condition.

“The 19-year-old FC Midtjylland player was seriously injured in a stabbing and is now in stable condition after two operations. He has woken up from an induced coma and is doing well under the circumstances,” the club said.

Condition Once Critical

Further details revealed just how close the situation came to tragedy.

“Alamara Djabi was subsequently in danger of dying and underwent emergency surgery… his condition is now stable.”

The statement highlighted the decisive role played by both rescue personnel and hospital doctors, whose rapid intervention ultimately saved his life.

Rising Talent Interrupted

Alamara Djabi, a Guinea-Bissau youth international, joined FC Midtjylland in 2023 and has been viewed as one of the club’s emerging prospects.

Though still early in his career, he has:

  • Made two senior appearances
  • Featured in a Europa League qualifier against KuPS in 2025

Off the pitch, he shares a close connection with compatriot Franculino Djú, one of the standout performers in Denmark this season.

Police Launch Manhunt

Authorities in Central and West Jutland have launched an active search for a suspect linked to the attack.

A 20-year-old man, Moussa Habib Jensen, has been identified and remains at large.

“He is still at large. The search has not yielded the results we had hoped for, and we are still investigating,” said police commissioner Susanne Kiel Nielsen.

Club Stands by Player

FC Midtjylland confirmed it is maintaining close contact with Djabi’s family and authorities as the situation continues to unfold.

A Long Road Ahead

While the immediate danger has passed, Djabi’s recovery journey is only just beginning.

For now, the focus shifts from football to healing
after a terrifying incident that nearly cost a young talent his life.
