Senegal midfielder Dion Lopy has joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad from UD Almeria for €13m.
The 24-year-old has signed a contract with Al-Ittihad until 30 June 2030, moving to Saudi Arabia after three years with the Spanish side.
Lopy spent the 2025-26 season with Almeria, who were competing in LaLiga2. He made 63 appearances in the competition during his career, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
The defensive midfielder arrives at Al-Ittihad with experience of football in Spain and France. He has made 30 LaLiga appearances and featured 59 times in Ligue 1, where he also recorded two assists.
Lopy began his senior career with Oslo FA Dakar before moving to Stade Reims B in October 2020. He joined Reims’ first team the following season and subsequently moved to Almeria on 5 August 2023 for €6.5m.
A right-footed midfielder, Lopy stands at 1.84m and has operated primarily in a defensive midfield role. His move to Al-Ittihad takes him into the Saudi Pro League after his spell in Spanish football.
The transfer was completed on 5 August 2026, with Almeria receiving €13m for the Senegal international. Lopy is now contracted to Al-Ittihad through to the end of June 2030.
