“Deeply honored” – Senaya commits international future to Ghana

Marvin Senaya has expressed his pride after being called up to represent the Ghana national football team, confirming his decision to commit his international future to the West African nation.

The defender revealed he had also been approached by Togo national football team but ultimately opted for Ghana, citing the country’s strong football heritage and his ambition to contribute to its continued success.

Senaya described the call-up as a significant personal milestone, underlining both the honour of representing the national team and the responsibility that comes with it.

“I’m deeply honored to have been chosen to represent my country.Ghana is a soccer nation with a rich history, and I am thrilled to have been called upon to represent it.I’ll do so with pride, loyalty, and patriotism”, he wrote on social media.

His decision highlights the continued appeal of Ghana’s national team to players eligible to represent multiple countries. The Black Stars have long attracted dual-nationality talent, with the promise of competing at major international tournaments and contributing to one of Africa’s most established footballing traditions.

Senaya’s commitment is also seen as a boost to Ghana’s player pool, as the team looks to strengthen its options with players gaining experience in different footballing environments. His addition reflects a broader trend of integrating emerging talents into the squad as part of ongoing development.

The player emphasised his intention to give his full effort on the pitch, while also acknowledging the support of fans and the wider football community. His message reinforced a sense of connection to the national team and its supporters, as he prepares to begin his international career.

Ghana’s football history, which includes multiple continental successes and regular appearances on the global stage, was cited by Senaya as a key factor in his decision. The country’s reputation as a footballing nation continues to play an important role in attracting players seeking to compete at the highest level.

As the Black Stars continue their preparations for upcoming fixtures, Senaya’s inclusion adds depth and competition within the squad. His decision is expected to be welcomed by supporters, who will be eager to see how he contributes to the team in future matches.

With his international allegiance now confirmed, attention will turn to his performances in Ghana colours, as he looks to establish himself and justify the faith shown in him by the national team setup.
