David Abimbola, the England-Nigeria centre-forward, has joined Hednesford from Bolton B ahead of the 2026-27 National League North season.
The 19-year-old completed the move on 3 August, switching clubs after a year with Bolton’s reserve side. Abimbola was registered as a centre-forward during his time at Bolton and is left-footed.
Abimbola began the 2025-26 campaign with Bolton B before moving to Accrington on loan on 30 January. He returned to Bolton at the end of the season on 31 May, bringing the temporary spell to a close.
His senior league record for the 2025-26 campaign included 11 appearances and one goal in League Two, as well as four appearances in League One. He played 359 minutes in League Two and 103 minutes in League One.
The move to Hednesford gives Abimbola a new opportunity in the National League North after spending the previous season between Bolton’s second team and a loan spell at Accrington. It also represents his first club change since joining Bolton B from Bolton Under-18s in July 2025.
Born in Liverpool on 19 May 2007, Abimbola has both English and Nigerian nationality. He stands 1.86m tall and has been used in the central attacking role throughout his recorded career.
His arrival adds a young forward to Hednesford’s squad as the club prepares for the new campaign. The Staffordshire side will be Abimbola’s third senior club, following his time with Bolton B and his loan period at Accrington.
