Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, the Ghana-Germany attacking midfielder currently without a club, is being linked with a move to 2. Bundesliga side VfL Osnabruck. Discussions over a deal are described as progressing, with the likelihood of a transfer currently rated at 55%, suggesting Osnabruck are seriously exploring the option of adding the 30-year-old to their squad.
Kyereh has been a free agent since leaving Freiburg at the start of July, making him an attainable mid-summer addition for Osnabruck as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the new campaign. His current market value is estimated at around €100,000, underlining the relatively low financial risk involved for a club operating outside the Bundesliga’s top tier.
The Accra-born midfielder previously made the step up to Germany’s top flight when he joined Freiburg from St. Pauli in July 2022 in a deal worth €4.5 million, following an impressive spell in the 2. Bundesliga. Before that, Kyereh had climbed the German pyramid with Wehen Wiesbaden, where he won the Hessen Cup in 2018-19, and earlier came through the youth ranks at Wolfsburg.
Osnabruck’s interest reflects the view that Kyereh’s experience in both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga could add proven quality and depth to their midfield. With the player unattached and free to negotiate, talks are expected to continue in the coming days as Osnabruck weigh up whether to formalise their interest with a contract offer.
