Crystal Palace make Anthony Barry leading candidate to replace Pierre Sage

Anthony Barry, assistant to England head coach Thomas Tuchel, has emerged as the leading candidate to become the next manager of Crystal Palace, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 40-year-old has already been the subject of preliminary discussions with the club, who are considering a change in the dugout.

Pierre Sage could lose his job if Crystal Palace fail to produce satisfactory results in their next two matches against Hoffenheim and Liverpool.

Sage took charge of the club last summer after signing a three-year contract. However, after nine rounds of the Premier League, Crystal Palace are 18th in the table and in the relegation zone, with seven points.
