Crystal Palace have announced the signing of 21-year-old Israel international Anan Khalaili from Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise on a contract running until 2031.
The agreement is subject to the player receiving international clearance before it becomes officially effective. Khalaili becomes the fifth new arrival at Crystal Palace this summer, following Oscar Mingueza, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Dwight McNeil and Evann Guessand.
Khalaili is capable of playing both as a wing-back and as a winger, giving Crystal Palace another versatile option in their squad. The player was born in Haifa and began his professional career with the city’s Maccabi club.
He moved to Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2024 and made a significant contribution to the Belgian side’s success the following year. Union Saint-Gilloise won the Belgian league title for the first time in 90 years with Khalaili in the squad.
The Israel international also scored three goals in the Champions League. Last season, he added the Belgian Cup to his list of honours, further increasing his profile after his move from Israel to Belgium.
At international level, Khalaili has made 16 appearances for Israel. His performances for both club and country have now earned him a move to the Premier League, although the transfer remains dependent on the completion of the international registration process.
Transfermarkt reports that the fee for the move is €24.5m. Crystal Palace’s announcement confirms a deal that will keep Khalaili at the club until 2031 once all the required formalities have been completed.
The transfer represents a change of direction for the player, who had previously been expected to join Inter. That proposed move collapsed because of strict requirements imposed by the Italian league in connection with the health assessment process.
Khalaili’s career has progressed rapidly since he started playing professionally in Haifa. After joining Union Saint-Gilloise in 2024, he helped the club secure a historic league triumph, scored in the Champions League and won the Belgian Cup during the previous season.
Crystal Palace have now moved to bring him to England, with the club confirming that the 21-year-old will be part of their latest group of recruits once international clearance has been granted.
