Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 980 goals after Al Nassr win as 1,000 milestone moves closer

Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to within 20 goals of reaching 1,000 in his career after helping Al Nassr beat Al-Diriyah 3-0 in the eighth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

The Al Nassr captain marked the latest victory with a brief message on social media, signalling that his attention had already turned to the team’s next fixture.

“Job done. On to the next one!” Ronaldo wrote in a post published on 9 October 2026.

The Portuguese forward’s latest goal took his career tally to 980. He is pursuing the landmark total before bringing his professional career to an end.

Ronaldo has now scored four goals in the Roshn Saudi League this season. His earlier goals came against Riyadh, Al Taawoun and Abha, as he continues to provide an attacking threat for Al Nassr during their pursuit of honours.

The 1,000-goal target remains a major personal objective for Ronaldo, whose supporters are now awaiting his next scoring milestones in the colours of the Saudi club.
