Milan are showing clear progress but remain short of the level required to win the Scudetto, according to club veteran Alessandro Costacurta.
Costacurta was assessing Milan’s success in the eighth round of Serie A and praised the way the players have responded to their manager.
“I see players following their manager in a truly impressive way,” Costacurta said, as quoted by pianetamilan.it. “I like the attitude they show on the pitch.”
However, he believes Milan still have work to do before they can be regarded as genuine contenders for the Italian title.
“Yet I do not see them as a team capable of winning the Scudetto at the moment,” he added. “In my view, there are a couple of teams ahead of them right now.
“It is still very early, though, and this squad unquestionably has great potential. What I see is a team that offers a lot of promise.”
Milan last won the Italian championship in 2022.
