Como’s Liberali doubtful for Sassuolo after muscle problem

Como are expected to be without Mattia Liberali for Saturday’s Serie A home match against Sassuolo after the Italian talent suffered a muscle problem.

Liberali felt discomfort during the warm-up before Como’s 4-1 win over Manchester United in the Champions League on Tuesday. He was left out of the game as a precaution and was not brought on as a substitute.

According to Gazzetta, the former Milan and Catanzaro player is due to undergo medical tests today. However, he is considered highly unlikely to be included in Como’s squad for the meeting with Sassuolo.

The 19-year-old scored his first Serie A goal last week during Como’s 3-1 away victory against Fiorentina, finding the net on his first start for the club.

Como’s attacking options are already limited by injuries to Moise Kean and Assane Diao. Liberali’s potential absence would further reduce their choices in the forward positions for the weekend fixture.

The Azzurri are fifth in the Serie A table with 14 points from seven matches, having recorded four wins, two draws and one defeat.
