The Italian club confirmed the move for the centre-back, who came through Chelsea’s academy after joining the London club at the age of nine.
Chalobah progressed through every level of Chelsea’s youth system before establishing himself in the senior squad. During that development, he gained first-team experience on loan with Ipswich Town, Huddersfield Town and Lorient.
He made his Chelsea debut in the UEFA Super Cup in 2021, a match the club won to claim the trophy. Chalobah went on to add two FIFA Club World Cup titles and the UEFA Conference League to his list of honours during his time at Stamford Bridge.
In total, he made more than 150 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions. His departure brings an end to a long association with the club that began during his childhood and continued through its academy, loan system and senior side.
Como head coach Cesc Fabregas spoke highly of the transfer as the club secured the England international on a long-term deal. The agreement will keep Chalobah with Como until 2031.
According to figures from Transfermarkt, the transfer fee was €30m.

For Chelsea, the transfer ends the senior spell of a player who had spent almost his entire football development within the club’s structure. For Como, it brings in an England defender with more than 150 Chelsea appearances and experience of winning major honours.
