Club Bruges hold a 1-0 lead over PSV Eindhoven at half-time in the fourth matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase, with Nicolo Tresoldi scoring the only goal of the opening 45 minutes at the Philips Stadion.
The Club Bruges striker broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, directing a well-placed header into the net as the visitors made the most of their strong spell. Tresoldi, who has impressed since the start of the season, has once again shown his finishing ability on the European stage.
PSV, backed by their home supporters, now need to find a response after the interval. Peter Bosz’s side must offer a greater attacking threat if they are to avoid suffering a disappointing home result.
Ivan Leko’s Club Bruges will aim to protect their advantage while continuing to exploit the spaces available to them. A second goal would put the Belgian side in an even stronger position as they look to extend their lead.
