Chelsea linked with Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor

Italian-Nigerian defender Honest Ahanor is being linked with a move from Atalanta to Chelsea, with the 18-year-old centre-back attracting reported interest from the Premier League club.

Ahanor joined Atalanta from Genoa on 4 July 2025 in a deal worth €16m and is under contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2028. His current market value is listed at €30m.

The left-footed defender has yet to make an appearance for Atalanta in the 2026-27 campaign, with no minutes recorded in either Serie A or Conference League qualifying. He wears the number 69 shirt for the club.

Ahanor began his senior development at Genoa after progressing through the club’s youth system and was part of the Genoa Under-18 side that won the Italian Youth Championship in 2023-24.

The potential move would see Ahanor switch Serie A for the Premier League, but the available information does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that negotiations are at an advanced stage. He remains an Atalanta player with two years left on his current contract.
