Mamadou Sarr, the Senegalese-French Chelsea centre-back, is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with Real Sociedad in La Liga.
The 20-year-old returned to Chelsea in February 2026 after ending a loan spell at Strasbourg, where he had moved temporarily during the 2025-26 season. Chelsea had signed Sarr from Strasbourg for €14m in June 2025.
Sarr has not made an appearance in the Premier League this season and was also unused in the available World Cup 2026 fixtures. The defender is yet to start a competitive match for Chelsea in the current campaign.
He was part of Chelsea’s squad that won the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, having joined the club shortly before the tournament. Sarr also won the French Youth Cup with Lyon Under-19s and the European Under-17 Championship with France in 2022.
A move to Real Sociedad would represent a switch from the Premier League to Spain’s top flight, although there is no indication of a completed transfer. Sarr remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 30 June 2033.
