Charel Elombo: Luxembourg-Cameroon striker joins AS Nancy U19 on free transfer

Teenage striker Charel Elombo has joined AS Nancy U19 on a free transfer from Thionville U17, adding a new dual-national attacking option to the French academy side.

The 17-year-old, who holds both Luxembourg and Cameroon nationality, moves into Nancy’s under-19 set-up after a season at Thionville’s under-17s. The switch places him in the National U19 – Group B structure, a step up in competitive level as he continues his development in France.

Elombo, born on 8 July 2009 and a right-footed centre-forward, has been on the move regularly in recent seasons as he has climbed the youth ranks. Before arriving at Thionville, he spent the 2025–26 campaign with Swift U17, having previously been part of the youth system at Hesperange.

His latest move, completed on 22 July 2026, keeps him within the French game but brings him into a more prominent academy environment at Nancy, whose under-19 side competes nationally and provides a pathway towards senior football.

Elombo’s registration with AS Nancy-Lorraine’s U19 squad is effective immediately, confirming his free-transfer move from Thionville U17.
