Tunisia must respond when they face Botswana in their second Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifier, after being held to a draw by Uganda in their opening match.
Head coach Mouine Chaabani says his side have no room for another setback and has committed to securing all three points.
“We have no choice but to win,” Chaabani said. “Everything will be done” to ensure Tunisia take victory.
The coach, however, warned against making premature judgements about a team still being rebuilt. He believes some of his players need more time to adjust to the demands of international football at the highest level.
“We have players who are only just beginning to get used to major competitions,” he said.
Chaabani added that those players should not be assessed on the basis of a single performance.
“We have to give them time” and not “judge them on one match”, he said.
The Tunisia manager also stressed that collective effort will be essential as the team seeks to move forward in the qualifying campaign.
“We are in a rebuilding phase. We need everyone the public, the players and the staff. Together, we can succeed,” he said.
