Carlos Baleba made his Manchester United debut in a 2-1 closed-door friendly victory over Lausanne at the club’s Carrington training base.
The 22-year-old Cameroon midfielder joined Manchester United from Brighton in the summer but had not played since the move because of an ankle injury sustained before his transfer.
Baleba started the match and could now be involved in Manchester United’s next Premier League fixture against Tottenham, according to The Standard.
Manager Michael Carrick also received a boost with the return of Matthijs de Ligt. The Netherlands defender started and made his first appearance since November last year after missing an extended period with a serious back injury.
Harry Maguire and Matheus Cunha also featured against Lausanne after not being selected for their respective national teams.
