Carlo Ancelotti has returned to Real Madrid’s training base while serving as head coach of Brazil, according to information published on social media by football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian manager was seen at Valdebebas, where he is expected to attend a training session involving the Spanish club. Ancelotti was also pictured in the company of Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho during his visit.
Ancelotti is currently in charge of Brazil, having taken the national-team job after leaving Real Madrid in 2025. The 67-year-old’s appearance at Valdebebas marks his return to the club’s training centre since ending his most recent spell as manager.
The visit brings Ancelotti back into the surroundings of a club with which he has worked during two separate periods. However, the information available about his latest appearance concerns his presence at the training ground and his planned attendance at the session, rather than any change to his current role with Brazil.
Real Madrid are preparing for their next match, which will be played away from home against Sevilla-based side Real Betis on 4 September. The fixture is the club’s next scheduled assignment following Ancelotti’s visit.
Ancelotti’s arrival at Valdebebas comes while Jose Mourinho is leading the first team. The two experienced coaches were seen together at the training complex, although no further details have been provided about the purpose or content of their meeting.
Fabrizio Romano reported Ancelotti’s presence through social media. The former Real Madrid manager’s current position remains with Brazil, while the Madrid club continues its preparations for the upcoming away game against Real Betis.
Ancelotti left Real Madrid in 2025 before moving into international management with Brazil. He is now back at the club’s Madrid base for a visit, with his appearance attracting attention because of his previous role in charge of the Spanish giants and his meeting with Mourinho.
