Cameroonian striker Rodrigue Dipanda has successfully undergone surgery after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, bringing a difficult end to his 2025–26 season with RC Deportivo Fabril.
The forward is now expected to begin a lengthy rehabilitation process, which will be a crucial stage in his recovery before he can return to competitive action.
His club contract runs until June 2028, and he is hoping to come back fully fit and ready to continue his development once he completes his rehabilitation programme.
Dipanda’s injury had already ruled him out for several weeks before the decision was taken for surgery, marking a significant setback for the young attacker who had been enjoying a promising campaign.
The player himself confirmed the development publicly through his social media channels, where he expressed his disappointment but also his determination to overcome the challenge.
He said: “After several tests, I was diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and I need to have surgery. This isn’t what I was expecting, but I’m keeping my spirits up and I’ll do everything I can to come back stronger.
“I know it will be a long road, but I’m ready to take on this challenge with determination and patience.”
The operation marks the beginning of what is expected to be a long recovery period, with medical assessments indicating that rehabilitation could take several months depending on his progress.
Despite the setback, the club is expected to continue supporting the young Cameroonian during his recovery, as he works towards regaining full fitness.
Dipanda’s injury is a major blow to Deportivo Fabril, where he had been an important attacking option throughout the season.
Before being sidelined, he had scored eight goals for the reserve team, underlining his contribution in front of goal and his growing influence within the squad.
The focus now shifts from competition to recovery, with the striker set to undergo structured rehabilitation in the coming months.
His return date has not yet been confirmed, but the priority remains ensuring a full recovery before he resumes playing.
