Cafu, a Portuguese and Guinea-Bissau midfielder currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Cypriot side AEL Limassol.
The 33-year-old central midfielder became unattached on 1 July 2026 after leaving Kasimpasa, and AEL are now listed as the club interested in signing him. No transfer fee has been indicated for the proposed move.
Cafu’s current market value is estimated at €250,000. He has made 59 appearances in Turkey’s Super Lig, scoring once and providing one assist, while his wider career includes spells in England, France, Greece, Poland and Portugal.
He joined Kasimpasa from Rotherham on 10 August 2024 on a free transfer, following a season with the English club. Before that, he spent time at Nottingham Forest and Olympiacos, where he won the Greek league and Greek Cup in 2020.
Cafu also won the Polish league twice with Legia Warsaw, in 2018 and 2020, and lifted the Polish Cup in 2018. Earlier in his career, he played for Benfica B, Vitoria Guimaraes, Lorient and Metz.
The possible move to AEL Limassol remains at the rumour stage. Cafu is currently unattached, with no contract expiry date listed after his departure from Kasimpasa.
