A high-level team from Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) is due to arrive in Uganda on Tuesday for a series of key meetings aimed at advancing preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The two-day engagement, scheduled for 22–23 April in Kampala, will bring together CAF officials and representatives from the three co-hosting nations, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, collectively known as the PAMOJA Host Nations. The discussions are expected to focus on progress updates and the next phase of planning for the tournament.
The meeting marks a significant milestone in the build-up to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027, as organisers intensify coordination efforts across multiple sectors essential to delivering the continental competition.
Senior figures attending include government representatives from the three host countries, presidents of their respective football associations, and CAF leadership. Among them is Acting CAF General Secretary Samson Adamu, alongside senior administrators from departments such as competitions, commercial operations, broadcasting, safety and security, and finance.
The agenda is expected to centre on critical operational areas, including infrastructure development, procurement processes, and financial planning. Issues related to safety and security, media coordination, ticketing systems, and commercial strategy will also be addressed as stakeholders aim to ensure readiness well ahead of the tournament.
Organisers describe the gathering as a “kick-off” moment for the next stage of preparations, reflecting a shared commitment between CAF and the host nations to maintain momentum. The emphasis will be on strengthening collaboration and aligning priorities to meet the demands of hosting one of Africa’s largest sporting events.
The PAMOJA partnership—uniting Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda—represents a joint regional effort to stage the tournament, requiring close coordination across borders. The upcoming discussions are intended to reinforce those ties and establish clear frameworks for cooperation moving forward.
CAF has reiterated its role in supporting the host nations throughout the preparation process, particularly in building effective coordination mechanisms and ensuring operational readiness. The governing body aims to work closely with all stakeholders to address challenges early and streamline delivery across all functional areas.
With preparations now entering a more intensive phase, the Kampala meetings are expected to set the tone for the months ahead, as the three nations and CAF continue to refine their plans for 2027.
