CAF Champions League: 16-year-old Bamba Souhalio earns ASEC Mimosas draw in Fes

ASEC Mimosas struck in stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw away to MAS de Fes in the first leg of their 2026-2027 CAF Champions League second preliminary round tie on Sunday.

The Ivorian side appeared set to leave Morocco empty-handed after Chabani Ayimene gave MAS de Fes the lead in the 31st minute.

But Bamba Souhalio, aged just 16, equalised in the 91st minute to give ASEC Mimosas an important result ahead of the return fixture. The forward is a former player at the Academie MimoSifcom.

The teams remain level before the second leg, which will be played next Sunday at the stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan.

Julien Chevalier’s side must win in front of their home supporters to secure qualification for the group stage.
