Burkina Faso’s first Coupe du Faso multisports to feature 11 disciplines

The inaugural Coupe du Faso multisports will bring together 11 sporting disciplines in Burkina Faso, with more than 100 million FCFA allocated for distribution among the federations involved.

The details were announced on Friday, 23 October 2026, by Valerie Badolo/Tapsoba, director general of Sports and Leisure, during a press conference.

The competition will include athletics, sports for people with disabilities, volleyball, handball, rugby, wrestling, boxing, petanque, karate-do, taekwondo and cycling.

By bringing the disciplines together under one event, the first edition is intended to provide a single platform for several of Burkina Faso’s sports federations.

More than 100 million FCFA will be shared between the 11 federations taking part. The funding forms a significant part of the organisation of the new multisport competition, which is designed to bring together a broad range of sporting activities across the country.
