Borussia Dortmund hold firm as Fenerbahce chase Serhou Guirassy

Turkish club Fenerbahçe have intensified their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy, with negotiations between the two clubs gathering pace in recent days, according to reports from Germany.

The Istanbul side are understood to have submitted an offer worth around €35m for the Guinea international as they seek to strengthen their attacking options before the start of the new season.

However, Borussia Dortmund are reportedly unwilling to sanction the transfer at that price, with the Bundesliga club said to value the striker at approximately €40m.

The difference in valuation means discussions between the clubs remain ongoing, although negotiations are believed to have progressed significantly.

Reports suggest that Fenerbahçe have made Guirassy one of their leading transfer targets after completing several recent signings, with the club now focusing its efforts on adding another proven goalscorer to its squad.

The Turkish giants are said to be keen to conclude the deal as quickly as possible as preparations continue for the upcoming campaign.

Guirassy is also reported to be receptive to the proposed move to Istanbul.

Sources close to the negotiations indicate that discussions have already taken place regarding the outline of a potential contract with Fenerbahçe, suggesting progress has been made on the player’s personal terms while talks continue between the clubs.

Despite that development, an agreement has yet to be reached over the transfer fee.

Borussia Dortmund are maintaining their position in negotiations, insisting on a figure close to €40m before allowing the striker to leave.

Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, are attempting to bridge the gap after lodging their €35m proposal.

The Turkish club’s determination to complete the transfer has been linked to Guirassy’s physical condition, with Fenerbahçe eager to secure his services in time to integrate him into the squad ahead of the new season.

The striker has emerged as a key target as the club looks to reinforce its attacking department following a series of other additions during the current transfer window.

While negotiations continue, there is no indication that either side has withdrawn from discussions, leaving open the possibility of further talks to resolve the remaining difference in valuation.

Should an agreement be reached, Guirassy would become another high-profile addition to Fenerbahçe’s squad as the club continues to reshape its team.

For now, however, the transfer remains under negotiation.

Fenerbahçe have made their intentions clear by submitting an offer, Dortmund remain firm over their asking price, and reports suggest the player is willing to make the move if the clubs can reach an agreement.

With discussions continuing, attention will now focus on whether the two sides can settle the remaining financial details and complete a deal before preparations for the new season gather further momentum.
