Ange-Yoan Bonny scored his first goal of the 2026-27 season as Inter Milan maintained their perfect start to the Serie A campaign with a 5-3 victory over Udinese.
The Ivorian striker came off the bench in the second half and made an immediate impact, scoring Inter’s fifth goal in their entertaining win at San Siro on Monday, 14 September.
Bonny was introduced in the 70th minute, replacing Marcus Thuram, and needed only nine minutes to get on the scoresheet.
His goal gave Inter a 5-2 advantage before Udinese scored again in the closing stages, but the late effort was not enough to deny the Milan club another victory.
The result means Inter have won all four of their Serie A matches this season, preserving their perfect record after four rounds of the Italian championship.
For Bonny, the match provided an important personal milestone after he had started the game among the substitutes.
The 22-year-old Ivorian had already been used from the bench earlier in the campaign.
He came on in the 79th minute against Napoli on 5 September during Inter’s 3-2 victory, but did not find the net on that occasion.
Against Udinese, however, the striker made his opportunity count.
After being brought into the match in the 70th minute, Bonny quickly settled into the action before finding the back of the net nine minutes later.
His strike opens his scoring account for the new season and could provide a boost as he looks to establish himself further at Inter.
Bonny has already experienced important moments in Serie A since joining the club. He scored against Lazio on 9 November 2025 in Inter’s 2-0 win at San Siro.
He also found the decisive goal against Roma on 18 October 2025, scoring the only goal in Inter’s victory at the Stadio Olimpico.
The latest goal adds to that record and gives the Ivorian another positive moment to build on during the new campaign.
Bonny’s contribution against Udinese was particularly significant because of the circumstances in which it came.
Having begun the match on the bench, he was given an opportunity in the second half and responded by scoring.
The timing of the goal could also prove useful for the striker as he competes for opportunities within Inter’s squad.
His introduction against Udinese was quickly rewarded, giving him an encouraging start to his individual campaign despite not being selected in the starting line-up.
The victory itself was the more important outcome for Inter, who continued their strong beginning to the Serie A season.
The Nerazzurri had established a three-goal advantage before Udinese reduced the deficit late on, but Inter held on to secure another three points.
With four wins from four matches, Inter have made a perfect start, while Bonny has opened his account and added another goal to his growing Serie A record.
