Benin international Tamimou Ouorou joins Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia

Benin international Tamimou Ouorou has expressed his gratitude after completing a loan move to Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia, describing the transfer as an important milestone in both his life and football career.

The defender joins one of Bulgaria’s most successful clubs after spending the first half of the year with Botev Vratsa, where his performances earned him an opportunity to take another step forward.

For Benin and African football followers, the move represents another player from the continent securing a chance to compete for honours at one of Eastern Europe’s most decorated clubs.

CSKA Sofia confirmed the arrival of the 21-year-old defender on a one-season loan deal from fellow Bulgarian First League side Botev Vratsa.

The agreement also includes an option for CSKA Sofia to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan spell.

Ouorou joined Botev Vratsa in February 2026 and quickly established himself in the first team.

During his time at the club, he made seven league appearances and scored one goal, attracting attention with his displays in Bulgaria’s top flight.

His performances have now earned him a move to CSKA Sofia, a club with a rich domestic history that includes 31 league titles.

Shortly after the transfer was officially announced, the Benin international shared an emotional message on social media reflecting on the opportunity.

He wrote:

“Alhamdulillah. First of all, I want to thank God for this incredibly important opportunity in my life and professional career. Thank you to everyone who has always supported me, especially my family.”

The defender also looked ahead to the challenge awaiting him at his new club while thanking both his former team and his new supporters.

He added:

“A new chapter in my life, truly grateful for this opportunity, and very excited to take on this new challenge. I thank Botev Vratsa once again. Thank you to all the CSKA supporters for your support. We’re in this together.”

The transfer marks an important progression in Ouorou’s career.

Moving from Botev Vratsa to CSKA Sofia offers the Benin international the opportunity to play for one of the country’s biggest clubs in a more demanding and ambitious environment.

It also presents him with the chance to compete for higher honours while continuing his development at club level.

For Benin, the move is another encouraging sign as more of the country’s internationals continue to establish themselves across European football.

Regular football at a club with CSKA Sofia’s stature could help Ouorou continue his growth and strengthen his position within the national team.

The one-year loan structure also gives both clubs flexibility.

Should Ouorou impress during the coming season, CSKA Sofia have the option to make his stay permanent.

If not, he remains under the control of Botev Vratsa at the conclusion of the campaign.
