Barcelona’s 4-2 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain on 20 October ended their perfect start to the season and left Bayern Munich as the only club from Europe’s top five leagues yet to lose in an official competition.
The result came in the third round of the UEFA Champions League group stage and was Barcelona’s first defeat of the campaign. It also brought an end to their run of 11 successive victories since the start of the season.
Bayern Munich have played 10 official matches so far, winning seven and drawing three. They are unbeaten in both domestic and European competition.
Their Bundesliga record consists of four wins and two draws from the opening six rounds. In the first two rounds of the UEFA Champions League, Bayern Munich recorded one victory and one draw.
They have also won their opening German Cup match and lifted the German Super Cup, adding to a start that has left them as the only unbeaten side among clubs in Europe’s five leading leagues.
Bayern Munich’s latest fixture was a 6-1 home victory over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, a result that preserved their unbeaten record and further underlined the contrast with Barcelona’s setback in Paris.
