Bayern Munich have begun discussions with Michael Olise over a new contract, in a move designed to secure the future of the France international and frustrate interest from Real Madrid.

Unless Real Madrid make a concrete approach, Olise is considered very likely to remain with Bayern. A renewed contract could also make him the highest-paid player in the squad, taking him above Jamal Musiala.
Bayern would therefore have no need to consider selling Olise next summer, unless negotiations over an extension break down.
Olise has enjoyed a rapid rise since joining Bayern in the summer of 2024 from Crystal Palace for 60 million euros. His recent form has made him a priority for the club, which is now acting proactively to protect its investment and keep him in Munich.
Former Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who is now a member of the club’s supervisory board, has also expressed confidence that Olise and team-mate Harry Kane will remain at Bayern.

He added: “I hope, and I am very confident, that Harry will renew his contract soon. And that Michael will be next.”
