Barcelona’s Rodri substituted at half-time against Aston Villa with calf injury

Barcelona midfielder Rodri was forced off at half-time during his side’s Champions League match against Aston Villa after suffering a problem with his right calf.

The 30-year-old was replaced by Marc Bernal before the second half began. According to Managing Barca, citing Spanish media reports, Hansi Flick made the change after Rodri felt discomfort in the calf.

Rodri’s departure did not prevent Barcelona from extending their lead. Raphinha doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute, then scored again 12 minutes later to complete his brace and make it 3-0.
