Barcelona produced their biggest win in the history of the women’s El Clasico, overwhelming Real Madrid 7-0 at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday as Claudia Pina scored four goals.
The victory moved Barcelona five points clear at the top of the Spanish women’s league. They now have 18 points, while Real Madrid remain on 13.
Pina opened the scoring after only 227 seconds, collecting the ball on the edge of the penalty area before advancing into the box and taking advantage of passive defending to beat Frohms with her left foot.
Barcelona had dominated from the opening whistle, using an aggressive high press and sharp passing to control the game. Real Madrid goalkeeper Cristobal then prevented a third goal when she saved a close-range effort from Guijarro, despite some supporters already beginning to celebrate.
Real Madrid’s attempts to settle into the match produced little. Their main attacking players, including Schroder and Caicedo, struggled to influence proceedings as Barcelona maintained control through both possession and counter-attacks.
The second goal came from one of those rapid breaks. Pina reacted quickest after Pajor’s initial attempt had rebounded, placing the ball into the net to extend Barcelona’s advantage.
Pina completed her hat-trick after combining with Guijarro in a one-two before striking powerfully with her right foot to beat Frohms.
Barcelona added a fourth through Graham, who exchanged passes with Pajor, moved past Lakrar and finished the attack with composure.
The first half ended with Pina’s fourth goal and Barcelona’s fifth. Again linking up with Pajor, she used a clever touch to evade Real Madrid’s defenders before producing another fine finish.
Barcelona resumed in the second half exactly as they had ended the first. Guijarro’s long pass sent Graham through on goal, and the Norway international brought the ball under control before squaring for Pajor, who scored Barcelona’s sixth.
The home side continued to press in search of more goals, and Schertenleib supplied the seventh with a fierce right-foot shot from outside the penalty area that caught Frohms by surprise and found the net.
Marca highlighted the dominant display, with Barcelona’s victory underlining the scale of their superiority in the latest meeting with Real Madrid.
