Barcelona to appeal €602 fine over Julian Alvarez approach

Barcelona will appeal against a €602 fine imposed over their negotiations with Atletico forward Julian Alvarez without the club’s permission.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing El Chiringuito TV, Barcelona disagree with the decision made by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and plan to challenge it in the near future.

Barcelona had wanted to sign Alvarez during the summer transfer window, while the Argentina international was also keen on a move to Catalonia. However, Atletico’s board blocked the transfer.

Alvarez has made nine appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
