Raphinha could help Barcelona land Atletico Paranaense defender Arthur Dias
Barcelona are tracking Atletico Paranaense centre-back Arthur Dias as they look to strengthen their defence with a left-footed player.
The club’s head of scouting travelled to Brazil to assess the 19-year-old, whose progress has also earned him international recognition. Dias made his Brazil debut at the end of September under manager Carlo Ancelotti.
According to El Nacional, Barcelona face competition from other clubs for Dias. However, the Catalan club could use Raphinha’s influence within the Brazil dressing room to help persuade the teenager to move to Camp Nou.
Raphinha is highly respected by his international team-mates and could speak directly to Dias about a move to Barcelona.
Transfermarkt values Dias at 15m euros, although a deal could ultimately cost between 25m and 30m euros.
