Barcelona scout Joao Amaral reflects on Vitor Roque’s unsuccessful spell

Barcelona scouting chief Joao Amaral has discussed Vitor Roque’s failure to establish himself at the Catalan club.

The Brazilian striker joined Barcelona at the beginning of 2024 from Athletico Paranaense in a deal worth €30m. However, the young forward was unable to secure a regular place in the first team.

Roque spent time on loan at Real Betis before Barcelona sold him to Palmeiras for €25.5m in February 2025.

Now 21, Roque has broken into Palmeiras’ senior side and has scored 29 goals in 93 appearances for the club.
