Barcelona have reported record revenue of more than €1bn for the first time, with the return to Spotify Camp Nou one of the main factors behind the club’s improved financial performance.
The club’s board has scheduled an ordinary and extraordinary General Assembly of Members for Saturday, 19 September, when delegates will vote on increasing the credit allocated to the Espai Barca project and the redevelopment of the new Spotify Camp Nou.
Members’ representatives will be asked to approve the additional financing required to complete the remaining changes and construction work linked to the stadium project. Barcelona’s return to Spotify Camp Nou has helped increase profits, although the club says further credit is needed to finish all the planned works.
The date of the meeting was announced alongside confirmation that Barcelona had ended “for the third consecutive season, the financial year with positive ordinary results”.
According to Sport, the ordinary General Assembly will also consider the financial settlement for the previous year and vote on the budget for the 2026-27 season. That budget is also expected to set a new record.
The financial results for the current season have already broken new ground, with Barcelona’s revenue surpassing the €1bn mark for the first time in the club’s history. The exploitation and operation of Spotify Camp Nou was identified as one of the principal reasons for reaching that figure.
The delegates will express their views and vote on the items included on the agenda. They will also be asked to ratify the appointment of the members of the board who did not resign alongside Joan Laporta in order to stand in the elections.
Those directors are Rafael Yuste, Josep Cubells, Alfons Castro, Josep Ignasi Macia, Angel Riudalbas, Joan Soler and Xisco Pujol.
As is customary at the General Assembly, members will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers on a range of issues. The economic situation, however, is expected to dominate proceedings because of the importance of the Espai Barca financing decision and the record figures reported by the club.
The meeting will also include explanations on sporting matters following the conclusion of what Barcelona regards as a particularly significant summer transfer window. The club believes the recruitment activity has allowed it to assemble a squad with full competitive strength.
The General Assembly is therefore set to combine decisions on Barcelona’s long-term stadium redevelopment with scrutiny of its latest financial performance and sporting planning. The proposed increase in credit for Espai Barca and Spotify Camp Nou will be the most significant vote, while the approval of the previous year’s accounts and the 2026-27 budget will provide further tests of the board’s financial management.
