Barcelona ready to secure Hafiz Gariba’s long-term future

Barcelona are preparing to open talks with Hafiz Gariba over a new long-term contract after being impressed by the Ghanaian centre-back’s performances.

The 19-year-old is currently under contract with the Catalan club until 2027, but Barcelona are keen to address his future well before the final months of that agreement. The club is examining options to ensure Gariba remains part of its long-term sporting plans.

According to Lamasia Report, discussions between Barcelona’s management and the defender’s representatives are expected to take place soon, with a contract extension likely to be the main subject.

Gariba has made a positive impression on the club’s hierarchy through his defensive strength, consistency and ability in one-on-one duels. Those qualities have made him an increasingly important player in Barcelona’s plans, both for the present and for the seasons ahead.

The club is monitoring his progress closely and appears convinced that he has significant potential. Extending his contract would give Barcelona greater protection over one of its emerging talents while allowing him to continue developing within a familiar environment.

Interest from elsewhere is also understood to be growing. Several clubs have reportedly taken notice of Gariba’s performances, highlighting his increasing reputation in the transfer market.

Barcelona therefore want to act before the situation develops further and risk losing one of their promising young players. The next round of talks with the defender’s representatives could prove significant in determining his future at the club.

Gariba’s situation comes as Barcelona prepare to play Aston Villa in the fourth round of the league phase of the Champions League.
