Barcelona’s group of captains arranged a team barbecue on Wednesday as the club looked to strengthen unity after consecutive defeats by Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
The Catalan side had begun the season with 11 successive victories, but lost 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League before suffering a 2-1 defeat by Real Madrid in the Spanish league.
Those results disappointed both Barcelona’s players and supporters, with the team seeking a positive response after the difficult run.
According to Barca Universal, citing Spanish newspaper Sport, the squad will cook meat together at the club’s training base. The event was organised by the captains as an attempt to bring the players closer together following the two setbacks.
Barcelona’s players did not train on Monday or Tuesday.
Their next match is on 31 October, when they host Alaves.
