Barcelona monitoring Fiorentina right-back Dodo as contract talks stall

Brazilian defender Dodo is set to leave Fiorentina after refusing to extend his contract, according to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from Barcelona, who are described as clear leaders of the Spanish championship and among the leading teams in European football.

Barcelona are seeking greater defensive security, particularly on the right side. Eric Garcia is currently operating in that position, while Jules Kounde played there until recently.

Dodo could provide an option to strengthen the position, although it remains to be seen whether the situation changes before next summer or whether a decision is taken during the January transfer window.
