Barcelona are considering a summer move for Aston Villa midfielder Johan Manzambi after the 21-year-old caught their attention with his performances at the World Cup, according to Sport.
Representatives of the Catalan club have been following the Switzerland international closely and view him as a potential transfer target. However, Aston Villa’s asking price could prove a major obstacle.
Aston Villa signed Manzambi from Freiburg for 60m euros in July and are expected to demand a substantially higher fee if they decide to sell the midfielder.
Barcelona are unlikely to be able to compete for his signature unless they first raise significant funds through the sale of one of their own players.
Bayern Munich have also been linked with an interest in Manzambi.
