Axel Disasi poised for Crystal Palace move after Chelsea loan terms settled

Chelsea central defender Axel Disasi is set to join Crystal Palace on loan after the two clubs reached an agreement over a temporary move, according to RMC Sport.

The deal for the 28-year-old France international does not include an option for Crystal Palace to make the transfer permanent. Talks are now taking place between the club and Disasi’s representatives as the remaining details of the move are discussed.

Disasi is currently contracted to Chelsea until 2029, but his immediate future appears to lie away from Stamford Bridge. Crystal Palace, known as the Eagles, have moved to bring in the defender as they continue negotiations with his camp.

The agreement between the clubs covers a loan only, with no provision allowing Crystal Palace to buy Disasi at the end of the arrangement. That means any decision over his longer-term future will remain with Chelsea.

Disasi spent the second half of last season at West Ham. During his time with the Hammers, he made 17 appearances and scored once.

His spell at West Ham provided the defender with regular first-team football, but he is now in line for another move within London. A switch to Crystal Palace would see him remain in the capital while joining a different Premier League side.

Disasi’s Chelsea contract runs through to 2029, giving the club a long-term commitment to the player despite the proposed loan. The defender’s current market value is estimated at 15m euros by Transfermarkt.

The Frenchman joined Chelsea’s squad as a central defensive option and has attracted interest from Crystal Palace as the Eagles negotiate with his representatives. RMC Sport reports that the clubs have already settled the principal terms of the loan.

No permanent transfer option has been included in the agreement, so Disasi’s status beyond the loan period has not been decided. For now, the focus is on completing the move and finalising discussions between Crystal Palace and the player’s representatives.

The proposed transfer would represent Disasi’s second loan spell in succession after his time at West Ham in the latter part of last season. He scored one goal in 17 matches for the Hammers before Crystal Palace emerged as his next possible destination.

Chelsea remain the club with which Disasi is under contract, with his deal due to expire in 2029. Transfermarkt places his market value at 15m euros, while the reported agreement would allow Crystal Palace to recruit him temporarily without a purchase clause.
